Maine Bear Trapping Week Sept 27 - Oct 3, 2026

When booking you can either pay a deposit to lock in your spot or pay in full. 

If making a deposit, the balance must be paid in full by August 1, 2026. Your rifle will not be shipped out until AFTER the balance is paid.  To make payments after booking, use the Hunt Package Payment option

You will receive your rifle BEFORE your hunt. Get it setup the way you want, sight it in and then bring it with you on the hunt. 

Once your balance is paid in full, your rifle moves into the build lineup. ETA for shipping is based on what the current turnaround time 

5 days of bear trapping with Jim Neville Outdoors  

After arriving to camp, hunters will be assisted in setting their snares at their designated trapping site.

Trap sites must be physically checked every day. Each morning after breakfast, hunters will be taken to their trap sites to check them and refresh bait. 

Cell cameras will be on each trap site for 24 hour monitoring. Once a bear is trapped, the hunter will be taken to the trap site to harvest their bear. 

After traps are checked for the day, you can pass the time fishing, upland bird and small game hunting and hitting the ATV trails. Waterfowl hunting may be an option, depending on the season dates once they are released.  Hunters must provide their own fishing and hunting gear and ATVs, as these activities are DIY.  

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

  *Rifles chambered in 450 Bushmaster and 308 automatically come with a Mil-Spec style upper. If you are choosing one of these, please leave the upper style as Gen 2 so you do not get double charged for the upper.

LICENSES NEEDED: 

Each hunter will need the following licenses: 

-*Maine Black Bear Trapping Education Course ($29.95)

-Big Game License ($115) 

-Bear Trapping Permit  ($67) 

-Fishing (Optional) 

*If you have not previously trapped game animals in Maine, you must first complete the Maine Black Bear Trapper Education Course. Then you will be able to purchase your trapping permit. First time permit holders MUST purchase them through the MDIF office in Augusta in person, by email at ifw.licensing@maine.gov or via mail.  

Bangor International Airport is the airport to fly into if you are flying.  

Add-on’s such as Cerakote are not included in the package price but can be added. These items can be found in their categories on the storefront main page. Add-on’s must be paid for at time of booking, even if only paying a deposit.
